Novozélandské Paseky: Te Araroa chapter 1 - přípravy / getting ready :)

Tak se týdny a měsíce sešly a konečně přišel onen čas! Vyrážíme na pochod celým Jižním ostrovem. V neděli naposledy do práce a zrovna máme zabaleno a naloženo a chystáme se na pozvolnou cestu do Nelsonu, kde budeme trávit víkend u Kima a Judith! Už se moc těšíme. Posledních 9 měsíců uběhlo vlastně docela rychle.
Well, so we are finally leaving for our big journey through the South Island. We've finished at work and now everything is almost packed and ready to go. We are slowly heading North to see Judith and Kim and all the gang again before we take off from Picton. I must say last 9 months in Queenstown were actually quite fast :)

Naše cesta začne v krásných fjordech Marlborough sounds v zálivu Ship Cove a přes mnoho pohoří, od Richmond Range, Nelson Lakes National park dál středem Jižního ostrova přes Arthur's Pass a velké řeky jako Rakaia nebo Rangitata k ledovcovým jezerům Tekapo a Pukaki a dál až do našeho milovaného Otaga přes Wanaku a Queenstown. Poté trasa vede přes několik dalších pohoří a jezera Mavora až postupně dolů, kde by měla končit v mestěčku Bluff, pokud nám budou všechna božstva nakloněna :) Snad zrovna dorazíme na ústřice :)
Mapa je přibližným zobrazením cesty, v některých místech se trochu liší, ale poslouží dobře k celkové představě :)
Our journy starts up north in Marlborough Sounds in Ship Cove and then it's winding through the land over many ranges such as Richmond Range or Nelson Lakes NP to Arthur's pass, the great rivers such as Rakaia or Rangitata, Tekapo and Pukaki lakes all the way down to our beloved Otago where we should go through Wanaka and Queenstown. The trail then goes through Mavora lakes and some other ranges and if all the gods are on our side, we should finish safe and sound in Bluff. Hopefully to have some oysters as well :) Fingers crossed :) This is a little map of the journey, there are some small variations, but the overall is: "that's the deal!' :D

Celou cestu hodláme projít pouze pěšky bez přesunu dopravními prostředky. Těch chceme využít pouze v případě, že budeme potřebovat doplnit zásoby a to tím způsobem, že dostopujeme do nejbližšího města z místa, kde jsme přerušili pochod (u silnice), doplníme zásoby, dostopujeme zpět a budeme pokračovat v trase. Také je nutné přejet lodí jezero Wakatipu a pravděpodobně řeku Rakaia, trasa vede přes vodu a bohužel po ní neumíme chodit :) Myslím, že takhle schopnost by se nám hodila i v jiných případech po cestě :)
We are going to walk the entire trail without using any kind of transport. The only time we want to use trasport is when we'll need to resuply - in that case, we stop walking at some point close to the road and hitchhike to closest town to resuply and then hitchhike back to the point where we stopped walking to continue the trail. It is also necessary to cross Lake Wakatipu and Rakaia River by boat, which is a part of Te Araroa, unfortunatelly, we can't walk on the water :) I guess it would be handy not only in these cases :)

Budeme se snažit přidávat nové příspěvky na blog pokaždé, když se dostaneme do civilizace, což bude asi tak jednou za týden nebo 10 dní. Budeme mít s sebou mobil s Romčovou simkou nz (0221891359) a českou, já svoje neberu - nicméně(!) skoro nikde nebude signál, tak prosíme rodiče, aby nešíleli, kdyby se nám nemohli dovolat :) Pravděpodobně budeme mobil stejně zapínat jen ve městech :) Jsme vlastníky Personal Locator Beacon - taková věcička, co umí přes satelit zavolat helikoptéru, kdybychom byli v nesnázích, ale snad nebude třeba :) Tak to je asi tak na úvod vše, přidávám pár super úžasných profesionálních fotek! Začínáme v pondělí, přejte nám štěstí a super počasí ;)
We will try to get online every time we get to the civilisation, which I ssume could be once a week or 10 days. Roman is going to carry his phone (0221891359), but I'm not taking mine. Anyway, there's almost no reception, so we might use it only in the towns. We also have a Personal Locator Beacon, but we hope we don't need to use that :) Well, I guess that's all for the beginning, you can see some awesome professional pictures below!
